“Feel-Good” Gifts

Gifts are given to show appreciation, express love, celebrate a new beginning, recognize an achievement, mark a passage, bring a smile and say “I care”.

Whether a friend, colleague, loved one or acquaintance, Pink Ribbon Associates offers a wide-range of unique “comfort” gifts perfect for those suffering the effects of cancer, as well as “special gifts” for the family members/caretakers.

“The journey through cancer can feel very lonely even when surrounded by loved ones,” says Pink Ribbon Associates co-founder Susan McHugh. “The smallest gesture gave me strength and confirmed that people really were pulling for and thinking of me during that awful time.”  It is for this reason that Susan decided to go back to school to become a Certified Life Coach.  Susan is working with cancer patients and survivors to enhance their quality of life through coaching.  Wherever clients are in their lives, there is always an opportunity for growth, as that is the process of life’s journey.  The first coaching session is complimentary.

Pink Ribbon Associates hand selects each and every gift with the recipient in mind and hopes to create a special moment when each special present is opened.  Some of the gifts offered on the site are beautiful hand-made jewelry, glassware, candles, inspirational plaques and magnets, as well as stationary and journals.  They also carry a large assortment of aromatherapy products.  There is something in every price range, but bringing a smile and a little peace of mind to anyone suffering is priceless.

“We were complete strangers brought together by this terrible disease and we had an idea to show support for our friends and others feeling the effects of cancer,” says co-founder Theresa Flowers.  “We are dedicated to providing unique gifts with exceptional quality that convey comfort and sentiment.  Many of our products are made specifically for Prink Ribbon Associates.”

Seeing an opportunity and a reason to create a destination for those in search of the perfect gift that conveys “I am here” and “I care”, they formed Pink Ribbon Associates. Launched in 2008, their mission remains to offer a wide and beautiful assortment of gifts that are of exceptional quality and appropriate for those suffering the effects of cancer and other forms of the disease.   Founded by Susan McHugh and Theresa Flowers, who developed a lifelong friendship while in treatment where they discovered a shared passion for giving back to the cancer community.  By reaching out to the medical community and other cancer survivors like themselves, they quickly realized that “feel good” gifts were in demand.

Pink Ribbon Associates donates a percentage of all sales to various breast cancer research organizations including BreastCancer.Org, City of Hope, Living Beyond Breast Cancer, and Susan G. Komen for the Cure, as well as other companies who are doing the research needed to conquer this disease.  Most of the gifts they sell are bought from companies that donate money to cancer research.

Hollow~Ways a self written, illustrated, and published book of inspirational poetry and uplifting colorful art would make a wonderful , positive “feel good” gift. I would feel honored if those women in need were able to have their energy raised by viewing Hollow~Ways. The words were a gift given to me, meant to be passed on.
